My journey didn’t begin in a boardroom or a venture-backed startup—it began with a vision, a handful of people and a mission to build something that mattered.
For almost 16 years, I led a church that I started with just two families that grew into a thriving community of 2,000 people and $2.7 million in revenue. I learned firsthand what it takes to cast vision, build high-performing teams, solve complex challenges, and scale without losing your sanity.
In 2005, I made a bold decision to step out of ministry and help business owners and entrepreneurs do what I had spent years learning: how to lead well in order to grow and scale something that matters.
For the past two decades, I’ve been coaching and consulting business leaders who felt stuck—helping them regain control, scale faster, and finally build a business that works for them, not the other way around.
I’ve given well over 1,000 presentations, built playbooks for business growth, strategy, and leadership, and helped countless entrepreneurs escape the overwhelm of running a business that feels like a never-ending to-do list.
But beyond all of that, I’m a husband, a father, and a grandfather (“Papa B”) who’s been blessed with an amazing family. My wife, Jacquie, and I have been married for 40 years and live in Mount Pleasant, SC, just outside of Charleston. We have two incredible daughters, two sons-in-law, and nine grandkids.
When I’m not helping business owners scale, you’ll probably find me spending time with family, reading, thinking through a new framework, or trying to figure out how to get to the gym more consistently.
